Often coral reefs are called “jungles of the sea”, since they form one of the most diverse ecosystems on the planet, since they are the habitat of 25% of all marine species.

During the whale sharks cancun tour you will experience one of the most impressive species of nature the whale shark, an aquatic species that has existed on our planet for approximately 60 million years, you will discover what it feels like to interact with the whale shark , a calm and social species that likes to interact with humans.

The whale shark has been present in stories in several cultures around the world, for the Vietnamese the whale shark was a deity and they called it “Lord Fish”. The whale shark is the largest species of fish in the world with approximately 12 meters in length.

The whale shark prefers to live in warm tropical waters such as the Mexican sea. Despite the enormous size of the whale shark, it does not pose any danger to the humans. In reality, whale sharks are very affectionate, and are often playful with divers. The numerous teeth it has do not play any determining role in feeding, in fact, they are small in size.

The whale shark feeds by sucking water eating phytoplankton, nekton, macro algae, and krill, but sometimes it also feeds on crustaceans, such as crab larvae, squid, and schools of small fish, such as anchovies, sardines, mackerel, and tuna.

In studies carried out in Mexico and Taiwan, it was determined that whale sharks were ovoviviparous species. The life expectancy of the whale shark is estimated to be approximately 100 years.

During the whale sharks cancun tour you can enjoy delicious seafood dishes, such as ceviche and other Mexican dishes included in the tour. The Whale Sharks Cancun tour is one of the most interesting things to do in Riviera Maya.
