EK BALAM TOUR
Ek Balam is a majestic archaeological zone whose translation of the name would be “Black Jaguar”, Ek Balam was the seat of the kingdom of “Tlalol”. The first known King of Ek Balam is “Ukit Kan Le’t Tok”, who was the builder of most of the sumptuous palace that we currently know as the Acropolis and many more works. Likewise, he was the promoter of technical and cultural advances, as well as architectural and decorative wealth. Ukit Kan Le’t Tok was buried in the main structure “the acropolis” and this structure has always had sacred connotations, even to this day the habitants of nearby towns have many stories about legends and inexplicable experiences attributed to “the acropolis”.
Very well preserved Mayan stelae and glyphs can be seen on the acropolis, one of them is the “ek balam jaguar”.
It is allowed to walk and climb the ek balam ruins, many international visitors and shamans practice meditation on top of the acropolis of Ek Balam.
Another place that we will visit is “Río Lagartos”, the experience is unique since we will travel by boat through the spectacular river. The boat trip is very impressive since we can observe many types of wild animals such as flamingos, fish and crocodiles, surrounded by the spectacular beauty of nature.
Mayan mythology attributed many sacred connotations to “cenotes” in addition to being a source of fresh water, which is why the ancient Mayans built their cities near a cenote, so on the Ek Balam tour you will also get to know the cenote Hubiku to increase visitors’ understanding of the Mayan world and the sacred connotations of the cenotes, as well as being able to swim in the cenote and eat typical food from the Yucatan peninsula. Ek balam
Ek Balam ruins: Ek Balam is a city of the Mayan civilization, known for authentic, preserved figures from “estuco” (Mayan cement). Despite its small size, the archaeological area impresses with its Acropolis, the largest structure in the city. This is a 29-meter-high pyramid with a traditional temple on top, the entrance is decorated in a prominent open mouth of a toothy monster. When you reach the top of the mountain, you can enjoy the view of other buildings in Ek Balam, including ball courts, twin pyramids, temples and stelae.

Rio Lagartos Mexico: Visit the Gulf Coast, where you can take small boats to explore one of the most beautiful nature reserves on the Yucatan Peninsula. While swimming through the mangroves, you will have the opportunity to observe the reserve’s birds in their natural habitat, see crocodiles, and watch flocks of pink flamingos. Their appearance on the background of blue water will always remain in your memory.
